Local Area

Mid-Wales remains relatively undiscovered and thus offers the perfect place to visit if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of busy tourist areas.

From stunning beaches, dramatic mountains, vast moorlands and internationally acclaimed dark sky reserves to historic castles, incredible landscapes and delicious locally produced food, mid West Wales is a treasure trove, still waiting to be discovered.

We are fairly certain you wont want to travel far from Woodcock Cabin, but we have listed a few places you may like to visit.  It is far from comprehensive, so if there is something you’d really like to do or would like some help finding out about, please get in touch.  We can also help organise a variety of activities for you so if you fancy trying your hand at pottery throwing, guided walks or Dark Sky trails, just let us know!

Places to visit & experience

Why not experience something new and have a go at throwing your own beautiful pottery.  David and Anouska offer lessons where you can create your own beautiful keepsake.  Our crockery at the cabin was lovingly created by David and Anouska and we hope you'll love it and want to take some home with you! Please email us for more details if you would like to book one of their fabulously fun sessions!

Places to eat

  • Y Ffarmers
If you’re considering a local restaurant for a good meal out, you wont find better than Y Ffarmers. We highly recommend this lovely little place, located in the sleepy village of Llanfinhangel-y-Creuddyn, approx. 25 mins from the cabin.  It has a great selection of real ale, ciders & craft gins and a truly delicious, locally sourced seasonal menu.  It’s best to book as it is very popular, but if you just fancy a relaxed drink, pop in and enjoy the atmosphere!

This is another lovely place to eat out!  Superb, locally sourced welsh ingredients from the Teifi Valley, Cardigan Bay and Milford Haven and their chef was trained by the famous chef Marco Piere White.
