The Cambrian Mountains boasts some of the darkest skies in Europe with nine of its own Dark Sky Discovery Sites. On a clear night, the skies above Woodcock Cabin will make your mind boggle. If you’re keen to discover more about our incredible cosmos, expert night sky guide & photographer, Dafydd will guide you from the cabin & lead you on an unforgettable adventure into the night sky.

Wild Fungi Foraging

If you have always fancied foraging for wild mushrooms but never had the nerve, expert in the field of foraging, and nature author Daniel Butler, will guide you on a private foraging walk into the breath-taking and spectacular scenery of the Elan Valley.

Penrhiw Pottery

Dave & Anouska have been creating their highly refined earthenware, stoneware & porcelain from their home in Ystumtuen, since 2017. Their pieces are all unique & inspired by the wild & ever-changing landscapes of the Cambrian Mountains. Their relaxed & hugely fun sessions are held at their beautiful home studio where you will be able to spend time under their expert guidance, at the wheel creating your own Cambrian inspired masterpiece.

Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway

Jump aboard one of the beautifully restored steam locomotives at Devil's Bridge for an unforgettable journey along the Rheidol Valley to the seaside town of Aberystwyth. The narrow guage track weaves & wends its way along the stunning valley, high above the meandering River Rheidol below. For an extra special journey, reserve your seats in the gloriously original first class carriage. Day excursions are available as well as Summer Sunset excursions & Driver Experiences.
