Woodcock Cabin is beautifully off the beaten track & hidden away, deep in the astounding natural beauty of the Cambrian Mountains.

Created with the utmost consideration for nature and sympathetic to the stunning environment in which it sits, the cabin offers a low impact, sustainable getaway for guests wishing to tread a little lighter on the planet.

It is the perfect place to escape the humdrum of day-to-day life.  Somewhere you can switch off, allow time to slow down and ease into simple living at its very best.

We appreciate an off-grid experience isn't for everyone, but for those with adventure in their hearts, looking for a holiday out of the ordinary, we are certain you will find it at Woodcock Cabin.

Furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and vintage pieces, unique local crafts and lovingly curated delights, together with ethically sourced luxuries, you will find the cabin a relaxed, comfortable and inspiring place to stay. 

The Essentials 

• Woodcock Cabin is for a maximum of two adults.
• Regretfully we are unable to accept children or four legged family members at this time.
• Change over days - Monday and Friday.
• We offer two booking options; 3 nights or 4 nights but if you do wish to stay longer that's fine, please contact us before booking. 
• Check in from 3.30pm.
• We kindly ask guests to check out promptly by 10am, late check out may incur additional costs.

Accessibility

• The cabin is remote.
• The track to the cabin winds its way through the Hafod Estate, along maintained forestry tracks which are passable in most vehicles. There are some potholes and the track can become muddy. They can become impassable during snow conditions unless you have snow chains.
• The Cabin is situated approximately 150m from the parking area, down an uneven grass track. The path is sloping in places and may become slippery in wet weather. You are required to carry your luggage to the cabin.  We provide a wheelbarrow to assist.
• The cabin has a hay-loft bed accessed by an open sided ladder. Head room on entry to the bed area is restricted.
• Due to our location & accessibility, we strongly recommend that you arrive in daylight hours.
• Phone reception is limited but can be found at the parking bay or slightly further up the track. 4G may be available at the cabin depending on your network.

Genuinely Off-Grid 

• There is no electricity.
• There is solar lighting in the cabin.  
• Well-equipped kitchenette, camping hob/grill, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery and utensils.
• A large cool box & freezer blocks are provided and can keep food cool for up to 4 days.
• Heating is purely from the log burner.
• There is cold running water into the cabin, and we provide 8ltrs of drinking water.
• Hot, alfresco rain-shower (not be available in freezing temperatures)
• Wood-fired hot tub.
• Outdoor fire-pit with cooking tripod, plate & selection of cast iron cooking pans. 
• BBQ - please bring charcoal with you.
• Portable USB power bank.
• Wood – we supply a generous quantity of wood, kindling, firelighters & matches. Extra supplies are available to purchase at the cabin. 
• Compost toilet located a few steps from the cabin.

Bed Linen, Towels & Sundries

• Duck down duvet and pillows, luxury cotton bed sheets & pillowcases.
• Egyptian cotton bath sheets and bath towels.
• Dressing gowns can be supplied on request (£10 additional service charge).
• Blankets and throws.
• Environmentally friendly washing-up liquid & Eco-friendly washing up sponges, cloth & tea towels.
• Luxury Bramley hand sanitizer, hand wash, hand cream, body wash, shampoo & conditioner (environmentally friendly & vegan approved).
• Bamboo, unbleached toilet roll.

• An Anker sound system is provided. This can be connected to a mobile phone or iPad via Bluetooth or aux lead.
• Selection of books, games & art materials.
• Acoustic guitar.
• Miles of footpaths to explore from the door.
• Walking maps.

• Suspended stargazing net.
• Abundance of wildlife.

Food & Beverages

• Shops are some distance away.
• Salt, pepper, oil, dried herbs, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar are provided.
